It is said that the "eye can be the window to the soul" - Iridology - this is a painless and non-invasive way of helping to assess the current internal health of your horse. Iridology involves shining a small torch into the eye to read distinctive white, grey and brown markings.
For Lyn is one of a small band of alternative therapists now practicing equine iridology, the technique of helping horse owners to better understand their horses from within and how best to nutritionally maintain and enhance that health. The iris of the eye can show current body stresses, past injuries as well as give us an idea as to the character of our horses.
It is a skill that sees her travelling to gaze deeply into equine eyes large and small, from top eventers and dressage horses to difficult ponies. “The only thing they have in common is an owner who knows that something’s not quite right.”
